Marsa asks for very little, and keeps it only for as long as it needs it. This notice covers marsa-life.com.
Who looks after your data
Marsa is made by Marsa Life, which is responsible for your data. Write to support@marsa-life.com about anything on this page.
What we collect, and why
- The waiting list. Your email address and, if you write one, a line about you. We use it to write to you once, when Marsa opens, because you asked us to by ticking the box.
- Messages. When you email us: your email address, your name if you give it, and your message. They reach our mailbox like any email, and we use them to answer you, because you asked us to.
- Server records. Like every web server, ours notes technical details of each request, such as the IP address and the time. We need them to keep the site running and safe.
- A reach profile, only if you say yes. We count visits to the public pages as anonymous daily totals for everyone. If you say yes on the banner, we also keep a small profile of your own visits: which pages you open and for how long, your device, browser, screen size, language and rough country. It never holds your address, your IP address, or anything you write, and no one else's tools load on the site.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no tracking by anyone else.
- We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for their own use.
- Nothing on this site loads from other companies' servers: our fonts and pictures are our own copies.
Cookies
The public pages set no cookie unless you say yes to a reach profile. If you do, we set one first-party cookie that names your profile; only our server can read it, it lasts 13 months, and it is never used to follow you anywhere else. Saying no, or not answering, sets no cookie at all, and we keep only the anonymous daily totals. Saying no stores only that answer in your own browser, so we do not keep asking you.
When you enter the world, Marsa sets another cookie that keeps your character yours. It lasts a year, only our server can read it, and it is never used to follow you anywhere else. The game cannot work without it, so we do not ask for it separately.
How long we keep it
- The waiting list: until Marsa opens and the one email has gone out. It is deleted within 30 days after that.
- Messages: as long as it takes to answer, and no longer than 12 months after our last reply.
- Server records: 30 days.
- The reach profile, if you said yes: 13 months from your last visit, then deleted.
Where it is kept
On Marsa's own server, hosted by Hostinger in Paris, France, inside the European Union. The people who run Marsa may look at it from outside the European Union, only to do the things this page describes.
Your choices
You can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it at any time, and leave the waiting list whenever you like. If you said yes to a reach profile, the link "Your profile" in the footer of the public pages shows it and lets you delete it yourself, at once. For everything else, write to support@marsa-life.com, and we will do it without asking why, within 30 days. If you think we got something wrong, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Age
The waiting list is for people aged 16 and over.
